S3 Collective Joins FDA’s Network of Experts Program

(Colorado Springs, CO) – S3 Collective, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to advancing the cannabis industry through collaboration, education, and standardization, is proud to announce its acceptance into the Food and Drug Administration's (FDA) Network of Experts (NoE) program. S3 Collective is the 132nd nonprofit organization and the first cannabis-related nonprofit to participate in this initiative.

S3 Collective’s mission is to converge scientific research and standards to build an objective global framework that enhances the quality and safety of cannabis products.

The FDA's mission is to protect public health by ensuring the safety, efficacy, and quality of drugs and medical products. The NoE program is a critical component of the FDA's Center for Drug Evaluation and Research (CDER), designed to provide CDER staff with rapid access to external scientific, clinical, and medical expertise to further enhance the agency's existing knowledge base. Timely access to external expertise ensures that CDER's decision-making is informed by the most current and comprehensive scientific knowledge. The NoE program is specifically tailored for situations requiring scientific and medical expertise, and is not utilized for policy-related guidance. This distinction ensures that the program remains focused on building upon the scientific understanding of complex issues, strengthening the FDA's ability to adapt to an evolving marketplace.

S3 Collective is uniquely positioned to contribute to the NoE program as they engage a diverse array of scientists and technical experts that champion data-driven standards for consumer protection and contribute impartial information and data to the cannabis and hemp industries. When a need arises, S3 Collective looks forward to connecting their technical experts with the FDA to give evidence-based insights on specific topics.
